Originally a coaching inn established in the 17th century, then rebuilt and re-branded after a famous steam engine when the railways arrived, the Samson Inn has been welcoming weary travellers for centuries. Today we’re proud to continue that tradition in our friendly bar, serving delicious home-cooked food and offering comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation.
We keep a range of real ales, draught beer and cider, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
Our kitchen produces delicious traditional pub dishes using quality local ingredients.
We have four en-suite bedrooms both modern and comfortable.

Like all good pubs we take pride in keeping a good cellar and in the quality and selection of our drinks. We’re blessed with a multitude of local micro-breweries so we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to real ales and will rotate these on a regular basis. We always keep at least one real tapped
We also have some bigger brand draught beers and ciders on tap, as well as a wide selection of bottles, a great selection of wines & Prosecco, along with a wide variety of spirits, including several specialist gins.
For non-alcohol drinkers, we offer a range of low or no alcohol beer and cider and various premium soft drinks and tonics. We also serve hot drinks including Fairtrade tea and freshly ground coffee by Caffia.
Really, there is something for everyone!
